Story
Thank you for looking at my page
My name is Chris I am 30 and I am a type 1 diabetic who owns a running club called DB12Run and I run half and marathons in a bunny suit for diabetes UK and other charities
So what happened was this....
On Sunday 11th September I was working in a garden using a lawnmower and I somehow managed to put the lawnmower into my right foot! Freak accident!!! So after surgery I got left with a monster gash in my foot two broken toes and my pinky toe that's 80% gone!
As you can tell by the picture it looks horrible!
That's not the worst of it...
I am a runner! And I am active! And I was going to be doing a world record attempt on the 2nd October doing the Scottish half marathon wearing a bunny suit trying to beat the time of 1hr 20 mins...
So now I won't be able to fulfil my world record attempt this time in the bunny suit and I won't waste my race number and give it to anyone else...
I don't know many people who have attempted it but I know I will....
I don't like to rest I like to challenge myself and the fact that I just can't stop...
It's going to be one of the hardest and most painful things I will have attempted but I know that I need to do this for my sanity more than anything else.
on the 2nd October I am going to wheel chair my way to the finish
Why? Because it's me!
Why? Because diabetes and my foot won't beat me...
Why? Because I need to
And it's all for a great charity
I am raising money for diabetes UK and semab a children's charity
