Story
Doctor John is one of our close friends in Uganda. We absolutely trust him both professionally and financially. He is an orthopaedic surgeon (trained in the UK) and is working close to the border with South Sudan in a makeshift mobile tent hospital dealing with the most appalling of atrocities such as gunshot wounds and amputations in large numbers.
Supplies are few and far between with all of the usual corruption issues associated with this part of the world. I have been deeply shocked by his reports describing his own feelings seeing such trauma close hand.
Doctor John worked with Sharon and I in Nebbi, Uganda at our mobile clinic in December 2013 and we knew of his ongoing work in Sudan. I hadn't realised it was so bad until we had contact last week. We have sent money for basic things like pain killers, anaesthetics, dressings etc.
Anything you can do would help. I have a secure route for all of the funds raised to reach him and to buy quality supplies locally in Uganda.
