Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A group of optimistic officers from Kirkintilloch Police Office will be taking part in a charity bike ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh, as part of the 'Pedal for Scotland' challenge on Sunday the 11th of September.
The money raised will help 'Buttercups House', based in Bishopbriggs, who provide support to children with disabilities in the East Dunbartonshire area. Staff there have such a positive outlook and work with good humour, bringing some much needed care to those that need it most.
The local officers were so inspired by Buttercups House that they have taken on this venture. They have embarked upon an extensive training program, abstained from cakes, sweets, and juice for at least a week, and now believe that they are in peak physical condition ( ahem ! ). There are a few concerns, mostly relating to the narrow looking saddles, however it is hoped that a great day will be had by all involved.
Please take a moment to donate to this worthwhile cause, even a small donation will make a difference. 'No-one has ever become poor by giving'.
Thanks for your time and support, Scott Wandrum.
P.S If you are in the Kirkintilloch area on Sunday the 21st of August then feel free to visit the Police Office as part of the Kirkintilloch Canal Festival, and take part in the 'Soak a Sergeant' with a well thrown sodden sponge! All donations will once again go to Buttercups House.
