Hello and welcome to my page, I am looking for a new challenge and I am attempting to complete the Cardiff Half Marathon (Yes that's 13.1 miles) for the very first time on 2nd October 2016. Those of you who know me, know I am not a runner, so this naturally for me is very daunting. To train in a completely different manner, environment and to go from bodybuilding (picking up dumbells) to road running (buying a fancy Garmin watch) has certainly shocked the system, but it is a feat I wish to obtain.

I will be fundraising and raising awareness for Skin, Head & Neck cancer and through the memory of Tony Hopkins (my girlfriends grandfather) who sadly passed away because of this condition back in July. My mother Jayne was also diagnosed with facial cancer which was at a dangerous stage (among other conditions) and went through a very difficult experience herself. She is now on a long road back to good health and is currently recovering.

Face-up Cymru is a local charity who are dedicated to supporting head and neck cancer patients in South East Wales. The money raised will help new patients through their cancer journey, by giving them support and easing their experience and in many ways psychologically increasing their confidence to overcoming the condition.

The charity is very close to my heart and a very worthwhile cause to enabling patients have an easier time coping with the experience and assisting them with getting back to as normal a life as possible.
