Story
My beautiful daughter Emma died from breast cancer at the age of just 37, she was diagnosed at the age of 32 and spent the next 5 years undergoing treatment. During those 5 years she should have been moving forward in her life, having children perhaps, enjoying her career, all the things that a young woman should expect, but for Emma this was not to be. Despite all this she was always gentle, cheerful, positive, stylish (she had an impressive collection of scarves and turbans having lost her hair on more than one occasion!) and was rarely without a smile, she really perfected that art of living with an uncertain future, she was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She died at the Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester on the 28th May 2012. The treatment and care she was given at the hospice was outstanding, myself, my husband Jim and Emma's husband Toby will be forever grateful to Weldmar who made an impossibly sad time bearable.
So for this reason I am committed to taking part in the Great Wall of China walk. I shall be trekking and camping along the wall for 5 days which is a little scary at my age and also I'm definitely not a camping enthusiast! I'm aiming to raise £3500, all expenses are paid by myself so every penny you donate goes to Weldmar.
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving Page in memory of my daughter Emma. If you’d like to make a donation to Weldmar Hospicecare Trust I’d be very grateful, as it will help them to continue to provide specialist palliative care to others like Emma.
Please dig deep, thank you.
