The Coldstream Guards Charitable Fund assists soldiers and their families affected by death, injury and hardship, both during service and afterwards. In recent years 8 Coldstreamers have been killed in action on contemporary operations and dozens more have been injured, many sustaining life changing injuries. As time progresses, the psychological toll of intensive combat operations will be realised too. In addition to this, the regimental charity continues to support the veterans and families of many previous conflicts, including the Northern Ireland troubles and the Second World War. The Coldstream Guards Memorial March began in 2013 as an enjoyable family day out on the North York Moors, with serving soldiers, civilians and veterans mixing amiably on a wonderfully scenic and reasonably challenging walk. Just by entering the event, walkers are raising money for our charity. Walkers have come from as far away as Sussex and Scotland to take part. Our youngest walkers were 11 and our oldest 79. We would love you to enter the event and take part, but if you are unable, we would be extremely grateful for any donation you might be able to make. Thank you, on behalf of the Coldstream Guards, its serving soldiers, its veterans, and their families.
