Idris Tawfiq (31/12/57 - 17/02/16) was a teacher and friend to many around the world. A former Catholic priest that became Muslim, he touched hearts of thousands of all faiths. Many people's lives have been transformed by his gentleness, kindness, humility and wisdom.

One of Brother Idris' greatest legacies was his ability to educate and teach. To honour this legacy, we have joined hands with Cambridge Muslim College to set up the 'Idris Tawfiq Memorial Scholarship'. Led by Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad (TJ Winter), the College is a centre for training the next generation of Muslim leaders and thinkers. This scholarship will be awarded to outstanding students in need of financial assistance.

We pray that each drop of knowledge transmitted by recipients of this scholarship, and the knowledge transmitted by their students for generations to come will be accepted by Allah as a form of sadaqah jariyah for our dear Brother Idris.
