Story
Calabash Trust is a charity based in the townships of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It provides workshops and training programmes; helps Community based projects to host tourists and generate income; and supports a cluster of Primary schools.
The last of these things is particularly relevant to Reed’s School, as for the last eight years we have taken a group of Sixth Formers to Port Elizabeth to work in 8 primary schools building playing fields, netball courts and developing libraries.
In August 2014 we will be working at Tshume Primary School where we will be building a netball court and developing a vegetable garden. All the equipment and necessary resources for these projects will be paid for via fundraising.
The 22 students will be completing various sponsored challenges and asking for donations. We have made good progress to our £10,000 target but still need £4,500 to ensure that we can complete our projects. Your support and donations will be much appreciated.
All donations will go directly to Calabash Trust UK. Online donations that will have Gift Aid added can be made at: http://www.justgiving.com/Calabash2014
