Story
Six officers from Cambridgeshire Constabulary are taking part in the 2016 UK Police Unity Tour in aid of the Care of Police Survivors (COPS) charity.
DCC Alan Baldwin, DI Jenny Bristow, T/PS Stephanie Calne, Insp Jayne Drury, PC Martin Drury and SC James Keith are participating in the three day event, taking place from July 29 to 31, starting from Cambridgeshire Headquarters in Huntingdon and will finish their journey at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
At the National Arboretum, an event will take place where officers from across the country will lay wreaths in remembrance of fallen colleagues who lost their lives whilst on police duty.
Each member of the team will be riding in memory of a specific officer from Cambridgeshire Constabulary who has lost their life on duty, wearing a wrist band with the fallen officers name.
In the run up to the event, those undertaking the tour will raise money for COPS. This is a UK charity that aims to help the families of police officers who have lost their lives whilst on duty. They also aim to ensure that all survivors have the help they need to rebuild their lives and remain part of the police family.
DCC Alan Baldwin said: "ACC Mark Hopkins and I completed the tour last year. It was a great event to be a part of and more importantly, it is all in aid of a fantastic charity."
