Story
Hi Folks,
it's that time of year, last year was a fantastic success for only running 10K at the Balmoral 10K event, I raised over £3000 for CHAS. I would like to thank you all for that.
This year I have decided to up the ante a bit, and bare in mind I am not a great runner so I am purposely making it harder each year.
I have decided to sign up to 2 events in 2 weeks. firstly I will run the Baker Hughes 10K on the 15th May 2016 than 2 weeks later take part in the Edinburgh half marathon on the 29th May 2016.
I am raising funds for Charlie House this year, this is a Charity that provides support and organises various events for families with children with complex needs. Charlie house is also raising funds to build and establish a respite and support facility in Aberdeen and further provide support to families. The centre will provide support and respite to families who have a slightly harder time looking after complex or disabled children or just need some time to themselves as well as providing support in harder times. It is a much needed facility in the North of Scotland with the closest ones currently being in Kinross or Balloch at the moment.
As you are aware my wee boy Harrison is quite a complex wee lad and myself and Kirsty utilise facilities like this as do many families in the North East and the North of Scotland. It can be used as somewhere to go as a family for a break or have your child looked after by highly experienced Nursing and care staff while the parents go for a break together to get some time to recharge the batteries and keep a strong relationship.
so dig deep folks lets beat last years sum, I am running further after all ;o)
