Story
Well, this year we are crossing the Pyrenees - three times - on our way to Pamplona.
The usual crew of Pilgrims: Pilgrim Paulo Thomas and Pilgrim Musketeer Cullinan are joining me on the long haul; Pilgrims Glynn (senior) and Glynn (junior) for the last day; and Pilgrim Griffin (coming off the bench).
The toughest challenge yet: 3 days; 320 kms; climbing some 5,700 metres with a special treat of a "category 2" climb on the last day of over 21 kms, climbing to 1,200 metres, but with the prize of watching a bullfight and the bull run in Pamplona and the Euro 2016 final on the last night.
This is the third year of the summer Camino Cycle, now supported by the incredible 3 Peaks Challenge in the Spring. We have raised over £50k so far and want to keep on raising funds to give young people of all colours, creeds, capabilities and desires a hand up in life and to help them to achieve their full potential.
In return, all we ask is that recipients enter into the Camino Pledge: when they are able to, they give something back.
We all fully appreciate that everyone has innumerable calls on their generosity. If you can help us in any way, that would be fabulous and really appreciated. All costs are paid for by the participants, so that all funds raised can be used.
I will be asking my fellow Pilgrims to download photos during the trip, for you to share in what we hope will be some fun, funny and inevitably tough moments. I doubt I shall be up to holding a camera by then.
Thank you for reading this page and for your consideration.
