Getting Over My Fear - Singing at Half Time on Boxing Day, 26 December 2016

Story

To kick start Oxford United Community Trust's #30United fundraising campaign, I'm taking on my own challenge; to sing again.

At half time of Oxford United's game against Exeter on Boxing Day I'll be taking to the pitch and singing my heart out for the fans.

To help, because I'm terrified, I'll be joined by four others facing their fear of singing too. All have amazing voices that deserve to be heard, but Amber Hearne, Bethany Lovegrove, Oxi Valente and Daniel Robinson also fight stage fright, but together, we'll stand and sing for your support.

Having not sung in front of anyone for 10 years this really does scare me, just thinking about it makes me feel a bit sick. But, if it can inspire others to take on their own fears and raise money for the Trust so we can increase the number of people we can help across the County then it's worth fighting to get over my fear.

Singing 'You've Got The Love' by Florence and the Machine when filled with nerves won't be easy but getting support for the charity will make it worth it and even if that goes wrong, Darryl Eales, Club Chairman has promised to double what we raise if we sing our new chant 'We're Gonna Win All Three' after the main song too so fingers crossed we can get over stage fright for long enough to do that.

Your support would be hugely appreciated so please donate, every little helps!

And singing along with us too!
