Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Jenny MacEachern and Catriona McLean are walking the West Highland Way (All 95 miles of it!) in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Centre, Mid Argyll. (see below for progress report)
We have both been involved with the local MS Centre who rely solely on voluntary work and donations to keep the centre going. Its an amazing local charity which is used by people from far afield, its run by a friendly and helpful team of individuals who care deeply about the work that they do and the help they are providing.
The 'dive' tank which gives the users oxygen, which is not only used by MS sufferers it helps a wide range of ailments, costs a lot to run. Each session costs the centre £20 yet they only charge £6 for the users. Our aim is to keep this running for at least 6 months.
Please support this local charity and dig deep!
Day 1 - After a good breakfast we set off from Milngavie at 9 - ready for a fantastic day. Beautiful weather. Long hard walk till mid pm then a climb up Conic Hills (& we mean hills!) sore everything on the way back down. Took us longer than expected to get to Balmaha and we are both very sore.
Day 2 - Up & away early as today is the longest day- 22miles. beautiful views but very hilly. Path disintigrating in places making walking a bit trecherous. Chased by mountain goats!! Very glad to arrive at Inverarnan.
Day 3 - Very, very sore this morning, knees aching. Enjoyed walk to Crianlarich though. Delighted to be having lunch at half way point exactly half way through our week. Paths good in this section. Another very long day - we will be glad to get back to work for a rest!
Day4 - Penultimate day, Bridge of Orchy to Kinlochleven - set off in good spirits - Devils Staircase to tackle today! We can see Kinlochleven for miles ahead - thought we were never getting there.
Day 5 - Final push to Fort William, less miles today 'only' 16 - but plently hills en-route.
WE MADE IT - so sore but so chuffed.
