Catherine A has challenged me to a Sponsored Silence (don't laugh - several people already have!). I am planning to stay silent for 60 hours, from 8pm on Wed 26th Nov until 8am on Sat 29th Nov. So this means I have to get through Thursday coffee and Friday night down the pub in silence! As Cathy has said, you probably don't want to be anywhere near me when I'm allowed to talk again, as once the flood gates have opened I may not stop for a very long time!!

A Sponsored Silence in the 21st Century really has to include no chatty emails (except vital work ones to external collaborators) and no texting, as well as no speaking!

I am raising money for two charities close to my heart: the Association of International Cancer Research/Worldwide Cancer Research, which we donated money to at Nigel's funeral, as part of my contribution to Paul Webb's and Byron Truscott's Around the World in 585 Days Challenge, and also for Labrador Retriever Rescue Scotland, who rehoused Rupert Russell's dogs when he died, 2 years ago.
