Story
Erin Hannah Field was a happy and seemingly healthy 1 year old baby girl, enjoying her childhood surrounded by a loving family. Erin became unwell very suddenly, initially it was thought that she had bronchitis. However after a week or so her symptoms worsened and she was taken to A and E on the 5th of December 2013.
Erin lost her battle with Pulmonary Veno-Occlusive Disease on the 16th of December. As Erin bravely fought the disease over 11 desperate days at the Leeds General Infirmary, we all hoped and prayed that she could gain sufficient strength to one day undergo a transplant. Tragically, this wasn't to be.
We hope to raise money for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK so that research into PVOD can be carried out. The disease is very rare and treatment is limited. Erin was not considered for a lung transplant - her only chance of survival. We hope that with research there will be treatment options available to children with PVOD and that they will have the opportunity to be considered for transplant in the UK.
