Story
I have just run the London Marathon for the first time (and yes I am very sore today, but very proud - absolutely amazing experience!)
A number of people have asked whether I was looking for sponsorship, and because I was lucky enough to get a ballot place, I had instead been helping my two fellow runners to raise funds; but they’ve both well exceeded their targets, and in the meantime (it’s been a bit of a roller-coaster lately) my 25-year-old niece Rebecca, who had been paralysed from the neck down since she was 11, sadly died ten days ago. As you can imagine Rebecca had a very tough time where her quality of life and her opportunities were very severely limited but she always managed to confront things with a bright smile and a wicked sense of humour. The family are giving donations to the charities Mosaic and to Remap in her memory, and I thought I would like to make my Marathon a tribute to Rebecca.
