Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Cancer is a terrible disease that has affected most people and most recently my wonderful friend and mother in law. I wanted to do something that not only raises money but awareness. It broke my heart to see my beautiful mother in law lose her hair not once but twice with chemotherapy.
As a woman losing your hair must difficult on an purely aesthetic level but it is the fact that it outwardly represents the internal effects that chemotherapy has on your body.
Shaving my head seemed the most relevant way to raise money. It was not an easy decision and as the time gets nearer I am even more anxious about it but it is something that cancer sufferers go through everyday around the world to try and treat this terrible disease.
Lyndale, based in Huyton, is a voluntary group and charity providing caring support in a homely and friendly environment, to help and support people affected by cancer, their families and friends.
They provide emotional and practical support, complementary therapies, one – to one and group support sessions in a welcoming environment and are passionate about helping those affected by a diagnosis of cancer.
Lyndale is run solely by 40 volunteers who work tirelessly supporting people and making Lyndale such a very special place. If they began paying our volunteers the minimum wage the total wage bill would be almost £100,000 per year, but they are worth more than that and irreplaceable!
I know times are hard but please give what you can for a great cause.
