Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So, I'm a birder and conservationist and I make podcasts as Talking Naturally. I also make podcasts for the World Parrot Trust (https://www.parrots.org/seminars-and-podcasts). One day I said, 'Wouldn't it be fun to cycle down to the Hayle Estuary (WPT HQ) and record a podcast about why I support you - and why I'd cycle 220 miles to do it'. They said. 'Yes, that sounds fun'. So I said, 'Okay then. let's do it'. And then I said, 'How about making it really interesting by cycling those 220 miles in under 24 hours.' They said, 'In under 24 hours! Are you sure???'. I said, 'I laugh in the face of the physical and mental pain that will come my way (actually I said, 'I hope so'). They said, 'Great, see you in July'.
Now I have to train like a - well, like a man who's never cycled that far before but who really wants to help the world's parrots, because parrots are globally the most threatened group of birds on the planet (https://www.parrots.org/about-wpt/why-save-parrots) and that's not good.
And getting very tired legs (and probably a very painful b*ttom) is the least I can do, and if you'd be happy to send me some cream for my sores... no, actually, if you'd be happy to send a small donation to the wonderful World Parrot Trust to say thanks for all the great work they do, that will make this effort worthwhile.
