Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I think most of you know by now that I'm a bit of softy when it comes to animal welfare... well some of that has rubbed off on the kids.
One of the places we love to visit is Secret World Wildlife Rescue here in Somerset - they provide a 24/7 rescue service caring for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife, and rehabilitate the animals in their care and return them to the wild wherever possible. We've visited almost every open weekend they've held, and met some great characters - Foxes that climb trees, a tame Deer, Badger cubs, orphaned hedgehogs and many others.

As a charity, they are always looking for support - and my 9 year old daughter Charlie has decided that as she's too young to be an official volunteer, she would help another way. Charlie wants to raise funds for the people she calls the "real heroes" - the volunteers who give their time and expertise to the animals who can't help themselves - so she's going to do a sponsored swim.
We've already spoken with Hutton Moor leisure centre here in Weston, and they've very kindly agreed to let Charlie use their pool - so on SATURDAY 27th AUGUST between 6 and 8 pm, Charlie will be aiming to swim 80 lengths - that's 2000 metres!!!!
She's decided to do this without any prompting from me - she's been totally driven and is determined to get as close to this distance as she can (the furthest she's done so far is 1000 metres - so she's got her work cut out for her!)
Please please please - if you are able to support her in any way I know she'd be extremely grateful! If you're free that night and local I know she'd love your encouragement!
Thank you
Matt and Charlie
