Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in Funny Women's 10th anniversary charity challenge evening on Thursday 8th March 2012 - International Women's Day.
The event is to challenge 10 women from the world of business, media and academia to take up the challenge to perform stand up comedy for the first time in their lives!
I am used to taking on challenges but always of a physical nature, running marathons a plenty but nothing where I've had to "be funny" although I probably look pretty funny towards the end of a Marathon. My first introduction to stand-up comedy was on December 3rd 2011, at the end of a two hour workshop I had to do two minutes of stand-up. Typical me I just improvised completely and I played on the fact that I'm Northern. I think I got a few chuckles but I'm planning on doing more than copying Peter Kay next time around. Oh dear, what have I let myself in for!
Please take pity on me and dig deep to help support Women's Aid the charity for which I am an ambassador. It really means a lot to me to be able to raise awareness of domestic violence against women and children and raise much needed fund through this event. An awful act that needs to be stopped and is close to my heart.
