The Great Ethiopian Run is the largest and highest 10k road race in Africa and at an altitude of 2400m I won't find it easy!

My family and I are financing the flights, accommodation, race entry and all other costs required for me to take part in this challenge for Ethiopiaid. This is so all donations you give will go directly to the charity.

There will be an opportunity for me to visit and volunteer at some of Ethiopiaid's partner charities who work locally in Addis Ababa and know the best and most effective ways to distribute funds. I will be visiting the Fistula Hospital, which treats and helps women with devastating birth injuries as well as Cheshire Services rehabilitation centre working with children with severe disabilities. Hope - provides breakfast to the street children of Addis Ababa and schooling for the very poor children who have no access to education.

By visiting these three projects I will begin to see how Ethiopiaid and their partners promote self sufficiency, resulting in life changing benefits for some of the poorest and most deprived people.

Ethiopiaid believes that Ethiopians have the answer to regional challenges being faced today and that with the right support they can deliver the solutions themselves. So, please be generous, dig deep and help the poorest find their own way out of unnecessary suffering.
