Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to look at my page. My name’s Richand I’m the Husband of Charlotte (author of theblog 'And So There Must Come An End'), who sadly passed away onthe 16th September 2014 at the age of 36, after a long battle against BowelCancer. She leaves behind two young Children aged 6 and 5.

To continue to support Charlotte's Star of Hope Fund, this summer Chris Alderton, James Head, Toby Cross and I, will be taking on a series of cycling challenges. The main event will be the Dartmoor Classic, which is a 70 mile cycle across Dartmoor that involves over 6,000 ft of climbing. 

Please help us ensure that no other family has to lose a daughter, wife and mother at the tender age of 36 years young.

While bowel cancer is thankfully relatively rare in younger peoplelike Charlotte, around 2,100 people under 50 are still diagnosed with it each year, often late. That's why we launched our Never Too Young campaign,to improve the diagnosis, treatment and care of younger bowel cancer patients and to raise awareness amongst younger people and health professionals. Early diagnosis really does save lives.

Bowel Cancer UK is also raising awareness about the type ofadvanced, Stage 4 bowel cancer which Charlotte had. The Time forGuts campaign is a call for action by the charity to improve survivalrates and support for people with advanced bowel cancer, in an urgent bid tosave more lives from bowel cancer, the UK’s second biggest cancer killer.

Out of the 41,500 people diagnosed with bowel cancer every year inthe UK, around 3,800 are diagnosed with advanced, Stage 4 bowel cancer. Inaddition, about half of the 9,800 people diagnosed at Stage 3 will go on todevelop advanced bowel cancer. Fewer than one in ten people diagnosed withadvanced bowel cancer will survive for more than five years, compared with nineout of ten people diagnosed at the earliest stage of the disease.

All donations will go to Bowel Cancer UK to help support and raise awarenessfor their Never Too Young and Time For Guts campaigns.
