I've signed up to do the SUPERHERO FUN RUN on 17 MAY 2015 for CHICKS.  CHICKS knows that childhood can be a difficult experience if you are having a tough time at home. At CHICKS they provide week long respite breaks for disadvantaged children from across the UK, who would not otherwise have a break in that year.  I want to help them with this great cause and help to make a difference!

The children they support come from a variety of backgrounds – those living in poverty, children that are being neglected or abused, either mentally, physically or sexually, children who have lost parents or even children who are full time young carers.

Whilst the UK is in a tough economic climate the demand for respite care has grown and we live by our own signature - giving children the Gift of Hope, teaching children that they can achieve anything and reach what may seem like impossible goals. With no government funding and relying solely on donations this is a big challenge!

To help raise money for CHICKS I am encouraging people to upload a photo from their childhood that makes them smile onto any social media and donate any amount they wish to CHICKS - though suggesting a donation of £5.  Alternatively you can sponsor me, you can take part in events I might organize, or you can buy tickets for raffles that I run!  Every £1 makes a difference!

£12.50 could help improve a child’s confidence and self-esteem by sending them rock climbing 

£25 could pay for a child to ride a horse for the first time: a wonderful experience that they will remember forever

£115 could pay for a child to enjoy a week of activities and trips like rock climbing, swimming and canoeing

£280 could pay for a whole group of children to take a trip to the beach to go body boarding for the day

£816  could provide a child with an unforgettable week long break at CHICKS, covering all the costs involved in their break from food and accommodation to exciting activities and memorable experiences.
