Story
Hi there and massive thanks for visiting my page
People who know me, probably realise by now, that I am quite fond of pounding a few miles along roads, fields, mountains, swamps and jungles (well maybe not a jungle yet!!) I have run various marathons, mountain marathons and ultra marathons, but have not raised money for a charity since my first marathon back in 2001 which was also my first London Marathon.
I was lucky enough to get a place running in this years London Marathon for a Special School in our Village called The Mulberry Bush. This is an amazing not for profit School, that helps vulnerable and severely traumatised children. These are Children who have suffered a severe trauma in their first years of life with experiences of emotional, physical and Sexual abuse, and neglect. The work they do is amazing, and as a dad with a happy, bubbly 6 year old, I cannot imagine what these poor children have been through. So its an awesome chance to raise some well deserved cash for them.
My last London marathon was in 2001 and completed in 4hours 10minutes, and my aim was to smash it!!!!!!!!!
I was dogged by a chest infection and pulled ligaments just before the event and only managed to complete it in a whisker under 5 hours.
So on July 16th I am also competing in an ultra marathon called The Race to the Stones, which is a 100km non stop race along the ridgeway. I completed it last year in 16.1/2 hours and would like to make a big improvement this year.
I cannot stress how amazing this school is, and it needs your help!
Thank you
Chris/chicky/fluffy!!
