Story
Cpl Darren Bonner was 31 years old with his whole life ahead of him when he was tragically killed by a landmine explosion in Afghanistan on 28 May, 2007. On this day my whole life changed in one second!!! I had to learn to survive and I am still learning and will always be picking up the pieces.....Why?? I am Darren’s mum...... My name is Christine Bonner........
Since Darren’s horrific accident, I have walked 150 miles in 10 days every year to raise money for The Royal Anglian Regiment Benevolent Fund, which supports and helps injured soldiers, veterans and fallen soldiers families who may need help etc. This walk every year is what keeps me going, it keeps me focused on the positive and not the negative. Nothing will ever bring my beautiful boy back through the front door laughing and telling jokes........ So I must continue his legacy and keep his memory alive. I miss him so very much.....
We have raised £148,000 in the last 5 years, for those soldiers in need. But as fast as we raise it, there is always a constant need for the lads (Serving or retired) or their loved ones who will benefit from these much needed funds.
The aim of All the 4s 2014 is to walk 37 miles in 12 hours, from RHQ to Duxford Imperial War Museum passing through Newmarket and smaller villages within Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, Starting at 0001hrs and arriving at 1400hrs at Duxford. This is for my boy and all the other heroes that never came back....... R.I.P. Son.
Please help this very proud mum to help the soldiers and their families who have kept us safe and suffered themselves or paid the ultimate sacrifice, in the process.
In advance I would like to thank you all so very much for helping and supporting me in raising money for this very worthy cause. XXX
