For those of you that don't know I have recently learnt about the Island based charity the  Africa Childrens Development Trust and their current project Chrysalis Uganda www.facebook.com/chrysalisuganda. This is a project that helps women living in the urban slum area of Ndeeba, Kampala to  work there way out of poverty. 

 The project  is simple......the charity give these women business loans of up to £250 ( interest free) so the women are able to start there own business, once the loan is paid back the money will then be given to another person and so on. The project was launched in October 2014 and already 37 women are now working their way our of poverty and bring hope to their families. I think this is a brilliant idea and will really make a difference to their lives and to their children.  It follows the simple proverb 'give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.  Teach him to fish and you feed him for a lfetime'   These ladies do not want charity, they are proud.  All they need is someone to believe in them and help them get up onto the first rung of the ladder.  This project helps them onto that first step.

The charity is based on the Isle of Wight and I have learnt first hand how big an impact this is having on women who live in circumstance you cannot even imagine.  I want to make a difference.....So I have decided to hold a online Facebook auction all prizes have been donated from business on the Isle of Wight I'm sure by working together we can make a difference.
