A short story behind the history to what has lead me to this point in my life.
On the 19th April 2015, through completing the Manchester Marathon in a time of 2:58:00, I secured myself a good for age place to run the London Marathon 2016. This is something I have wanted to complete for some time.
Having suffered with depression since the age of 15, after the loss of my grandma and the challenges of secondary school, I discovered the release exercise can give in coping with the day to day challenges we all experience. With the support of my big brother, through training and racing my first half marathon (Bedford Half Marathon, in a time of 1:48:51) I was hooked!
Seven years on, with over a dozen half marathons and 8 marathons under my belt, I want to be able to use this opportunity to give back to a charity that supports others with this hidden illness that often only loved ones see behind closed doors.
The money raised will go to the Mind MK.
