My daughter Méabh was born profoundly deaf in both ears. After diagnosis we didn't know where to turn, we then found the NDCS and they encouraged us to start a local group. So along with some other parents in the area that is exactly what we did and our group was and continues to be a great support network for us. Its great to have other parents to talk to through the hard times and laugh with during the good times. Méabh loves that she has friends with ears just like hers she gets a great sense of inclusion from the group, her confidence is growing and she loves going to events.
