We enable children with Down syndrome to maximise their potential.
Story
At the end of August I turn 40 (boo). As part of my celebrations I am doing a sponsored walk to raise money for an amazing charity who have been providing support to my son since he was about 6 months old.
Downright Excellent is a charity based in Islington who provide Speech and Language support (and a whole lot more) to children with Down Syndrome. My son has been attending classes since he was about 6 months old, and it is largely down to them he is now able to say 'No' to all my instructions so regularly and with such clarity.
Combining my love of walking and my interest in the history of London I have decided to visit all the churches located within the old city walls (stretching from The Tower in the East, to St Paul's in the West - 37 in total) in a day. Many of these beautiful buildings were rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire, others were damaged in the relentless onslaught of the Blitz (some had the misfortune of being affected by both) and they now all sit quietly and mostly undisturbed alongside the skyscrapers and office blocks of one of the financial capitals of the world (note - this was written before Brexit).
