Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page which is raising money to help children and young people in care across Yorkshire.
On Saturday 3 March, four of us, Claire, Jemma, Claire and Laverne, will be attempting the The Major 10k .
Now this is not just any 10k run, The Major 10k (http://www.majorseries.com) is a major challenge... running, mud, water, hills and obstacles will all get in our way. But it's all for a fantastic cause.
TACT is the UK’s largest provider of fostering and adoption services who invest a massive amount of time and effort in to helping children who, through no fault of their own, find themselves in need of support and a stable environment in which to grow.
Obviously, in these times of recession, charities are under increased pressure when it comes to fund raising and TACT need all the help they can get to enable them to keep providing the excellent service and support to some of the most vulnerable children in today's society.
So, please dig deep. Just £10 could mean a young person approaching leaving care age (15 - 18yrs) could attend one day of the Skills4Life course, a five day programme which aims to equip young people with the basic life skills they need to live independently, such as money management and managing a home.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
