Sadly last year my Mum lost her battle with cancer and peacefully left us. During the last few weeks of her life the nurses from St Clare’s were amazing; they made Mum’s time left with us bearable for her, so she could enjoy the time we had together. They were lovely ladies too, treating Mum like a princess – just what we all needed to lift our spirits.

Many of us will see a loved one suffer over our life time and even more of us will have to come to terms with their death at the end. St Clare’s Hospice, Hastingwood, Essex offers a wide range of hospice services which helps them provide high quality, specialist care for people as they reach the end of their life and also the people left behind. 

Time has passed and my family and I are adapting to the hole now filling our life but I think it’s now time to say thank you.

To do this I am hosting a charity ball later this year to raise much needed funds for St Clare’s.

All I want from the event is to make some money that I can give back to St Clare’s as a thank you. My mum would want to say thank you – so I want to do it on her behalf.
