Story
As some of you know I was diagnosed with a rare type of ovarian cancer in September 2014. After major surgery I underwent chemotherapy, which I finished back in January last year since then I have been trying to get my fitness back. They don't warn you that it takes a long time for the drugs effects to disappear!
Not being able to exercise for 6 months was very tough and now trying to get my fitness back is turning out to be a very slow and frustrating process. I decided I needed a challenge to work towards and so set myself the goal to walk to Machu Picchu next year.
The nurses at RUH were amazing throughout my treatment which is why I have chosen this charity. The RUH are building a new cancer centre which will transform not only the treatment and care for patients but also make the nurses job that little bit easier.
