31st December 2015... thinking of New Years Resolutions... I thought about my current life and how fortunate I was to have two amazing and healthy children and a supportive and healthy family. As I looked at my perfect babies it occurred to me that not everyone was as blessed as I was. I thought also about my abilities and how I wanted to push my personal goals and boundaries. So...from that I fathomed that I could combine the two; that I could use my desire to push my boundaries to help those less fortunate than myself. From that my bucket list of 2016 events materialised, followed by half a day spend signing up to events!
To date I have completed more than half of my 2016 bucket list of events, my first duathlon, lots of runs, cycles, Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge and raised lots of money for various charities.
Although I have done the leg work, I wouldn't have been able to provide the charities with the vital funds they need without the support from friends, family and work colleagues.
SO... the 2016 finale of events this year is the UK THREE PEAKS for an amazing cause - The Paul Popham Fund. I couldn't be prouder to support this charity and it's amazing work.
Mr Paul Popham and I have one big think in common, we both have the same ethos 'believing in yourself'. I believe that I am capable of anything when you have the right frame mind and support.
The Paul Popham Fund
The Paul Popham Fund, Renal Support Wales aims to improve the quality of life of Renal Patients in Wales. They work with Units and Centres that treat and specialise in Renal Care in Wales to purchase items that will directly benefit the Renal Patient’s quality of life.
There are around 10.000 people with renal disease in Wales and more at risk. Whilst renal failure predominantly affects people in the later stages of their life there are still a lot of young children and teenagers who suffer with renal failure on a daily basis. The Paul Popham Fund aims to support the NHS through it’s network of Dialysis Wards, supporting them purchase items that will directly benefit the renal patients quality of life while in their care.
The Challenge
The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland, often within 24 hours.
The first is Ben Nevis in Scotland (1345m), followed by Scafell Pike(978m)in England and finishing up with Snowdon in Wales.
My last please for help
So... for the final time this year I am asking once again for your support.
I would be grateful for any donations made but will also be looking for your support at any events I organise in order to raise funds.
I will be forever grateful and forever in your debt!
Thank you.
