Story
Soprano Rachel Chapman and baritone Colin Campbell, accompanied by Matthew Morley, have generously agreed to perform in Lonsdale Square in support of the St Bride’s Inspire Appeal
St Bride’s Church Fleet Street is one of the finest examples of Sir Christopher Wren’s work. It has stood for 300 years and survived the blitz, pollution, storms, defiling by birds and pile driving. So it is no surprise that its walls and tower have needed periodic strengthening. It is again in serious need of restoration and a £2.5 million appeal is underway in order to preserve the spire and ensure the future of St Bride’s.
Besides being a busy community church, St Bride’s is also famous for its choral music. It is one of only a handful of churches to have an endowed professional choir, which performs during services and puts on concerts throughout the year.
The combination of beautiful architecture and glorious music is quite magical.
