Nov 2015 ~ Ray has printed some photos of our walk and we are adding some to this page, so you can see some of our adventures!
*************
Hello! We are Paddington, Dawn, Purdy and Jade, the Corgis (Jade was wearing her invisibility cloak in this photo). On 27 September 2015 we set off to take long-time Oldies Club supporter, Ray, on a 200 mile walk, coast-to-coast, from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay on the Yorkshire coast.
Ray is 68 years old (he said it's okay for us to tell you!) and this is likely to be the last big walk he does, so we want to make it really special for him and raise as much money for Oldies Club as we possibly can. For those who don't know about Oldies Club (where have you been?!), it's a wonderful volunteer-run charity, which rescues and rehomes older dogs in the UK. Ray has supported Oldies Club for years now and previously adopted the lovely Ernie, a Corgi, from them.
We, the Corgis, are all aged between 4-8 years old, very fit and looking forward to this challenge and raising funds for the poor dogs who find themselves needing a new home in their older age.
The walk is expected to take 2-3 weeks and we will have human friends joining us along the walk and hope to make new ones along the way too, so do say hi if you see us! A friend of Ray's is coming along with a motor home and awning, which we'll all be able to use on overnight stops.
Ray aims to keep in touch with Oldies Club as we do the walk, so we will hopefully be able to update this page as we're trotting between the coastlines!
Please make a donation and see if your dog-loving friends, family, colleagues etc. will too. We'd love to raise a huge amount for Oldies Club, which does such fantastic work to help older dogs and faces enormous vet bills. It really does depend on your support to continue its wonderful work.
Thank you, Paddington, Dawn, Purdy, Jade and Ray x
