Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi All,

As you are now aware of I am running the London Marathon for the 3rd and definitely the last time. I got my place through my local running club Mansfield Harriers & AC which I run for so I have decided to support the John Eastwood Hospice Trust in Mansfield.

I am raising money for the John Eastwood Hospice Trust because over the last few years I have had friends and a clients who have passed through this tremendous and terrific place in their last weeks and days of their lives and benefited from care and professionalism of the trust.

My so story/training far.

After coming through my training in January and February relatively unscathed and the Stamford 30k now safely under my belt. I have now reached the 2nd week in March and the training is going well. I did my longest run at the weekend 22 miles with my friend and fellow runner Julian Wood who is running with me at weekends for fun? work that one out, but it is a great help to have fellow runner to get you through the long and lonely miles on an early Saturday morning. The next big date is Sunday 20th March and the Ashby 20 miler so fingers and toes crossed I get over the next hurdle.

I also run at my running club on Tuesday and Thursday nights to help keep up with my speed (that's a joke) and endurance, I also run Sunday mornings for a chat and a catchup with friends.

In preparation for the London marathon I have worked out I am running on average about 45 miles per week and have been very lucky with the weather so far.

Since my last update, two weeks have gone by and my training
is going to plan.

Yesterday the Sunday 20th March was the Ashby Del a Zouch 20 mile
race which is a very underlating and tough course but I came through with no injury worries and a time of 2 hours 43 minutes.

It is a case now of keeping the training going and hopefully
getting the the mind and body ready for London on Sunday April 24th.
