Story
Educating and empowering women in developing companies is up there with vaccination programs for cost effective improvements in quality of life.
This summer I will cycle 2500km around hilly England and Wales solo and unassisted sleeping rough and eating rougher. This is not just for fun but to raise money for Camfed which works in Africa mainly working with girls. Camfed is the Campaign for Female Education and reduces AIDS, poverty and infant mortality. The sheer number of benefits of educating societies is so vast that reference to them must be somewhat summary.
I would appreciate your support in whatever form that may take. Be it sponsorship, or joining me for a bit of cycling when I come near you. I don’t require sofas for the night as I will be camping. If I am offered I will very probably accept but I will always have other options open to me.
I will fly a banner with all the names of those who support me on every bit of the way as a token of my appreciation to you.
My route is not strictly planned and I can’t be sure of where I will be and when. I will do Wales pretty comprehensively (A good friend told me the whole thing was really flat), then the northern border from west to east. Head south along the east coast and do a loop around London. From there, I may head in to the Midlands or stick to the south coast. I have a fair few miles to play with and can go pretty much wherever I like.
