Story
Over 50 Coronation Street Cast and Crew took to the streets of Manchester on Sunday 10th May 2015 for Morrison’s Great Manchester Run in memory of Mike Curtis, our much loved Friend and Colleague. Mike took his own life in January 2015 and he left a massive gap in Weatherfield. Just weeks after we lost Mike was the launch of Lifeline with Professor Green. If only Mike had gotten a chance to see this and had known about CALM and the fantastic work they do!
CALM has since had an enormous impact on everybody at Coronation Street, from having the “Propamanda” bus stop poster on the Street and posters/leaflets everywhere around work to a phenomenal number of people, both Cast and Crew, wanting to pay tribute to Mike, and CALM, by running 10K in Manchester. Many who took part had never even run before so it really is testament to Mike and to how much he is loved and missed!
The race was the first step from us to ensure that Mike is never forgotten and our dedication to CALM is something we will continue with as we have made CALM our chosen charity.
Since the run there have been several other events - Dom with his Manchester Cycle, Andy Ash and his many runs, Tyrone, Kirk and Chesney Charity Golf Day..... And there are many more to come!!!!
Please help us to raise money for CALM, a charity that is very close to all of our hearts.
