Currently, patients in Doncaster who need radiotherapy treatment have to make a 40 mile round trip to Sheffield. Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust launched an appeal last year to raise £1 million to build a brand new treatment suite with scanning facilities at DRI. Thorne Rural Lions in conjunction with Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust have arranged a sponsored walk from Doncaster to Thorne which is 10.8 miles.

We are doing our bit to raise funds for this valuable cause and although 10.8 miles might not seem a lot, it's quite a challenge for us. We are extremely grateful for any amount you can donate.
