Story

Hello and welcome to my second 'justgiving' page of the year... Which can only mean another challenge...

If you watch Top Gear you would have reguarly have heard Jeremy Clarkson use the term 'how hard can it be?'  You would have seen them drive to the North pole and say that they are doing it to prove how 'easy it can be.'  I in turn have a similar theme in completing extreme and difficult challenges, which pushes your body to the limits with littlest amount of training.  So far I have completed the London marathon, and now (September) is really the big one; climbing Mount. Kilimanjaro.

I am a serving Police Officer for Thames Valley police and this September myself and 2 colleagues (Andy & Matt) will be travelling to Tanzania.

In the time that I'm there I will experience the life of those in need, in poverty whose lives and their conditions are way way worse than we will ever know... or even begin to experience when we are there.  We will see first hand how the charity 'Make a difference in Tanzania' (Go Mad) helps the community and aids those in need.

I will the work that Go MAD does, building water tanks, toilets.  Things which may not seem much to us, but for them, stops disease and ultimately, ultimately saves lives! (£450.00 will build a water tank)

Also in this time, myself, Andy & Matt and the founder of the charity Go MAD; Graham Mclure (Andys father-in-law) will be pushing our bodies to the limit and climbing to the top of Mount. Kilimanjaro (over 19000ft.)

Our aim in reaching the top is to raise money for 'Go MAD.'

For many charitys there are a lot of over head costs where money raised goes towards wages of those who work for them, for logisitcs.  For Go Mad the money raised goes directly to the community, to funding the materials required to build the toilets and water tanks desperately needed.

So far this year in preparation I've run the Reading half marathon, the London marathon and also climbed the 3 peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell & Snowdon) in 24 hours.  But they will be nothing compared to this.

For those who have already sponsored me running the London marathon this year, thank you once more for your support and kind donations, please do not feel you have to give again, however any money received will be gratefully received.

So please sponsor me, sponsor us as we raise money for 'Go MAD' who in return will use your money wisely to support those in need, improving their living conditions with; toilets, houses, water tanks and much more.

Craig
