Saving Lucy Campaign
Can you help us to save Lucy? DAWGS is a re-homing charity based in Aberdeen. It recently took a beautiful 9 month old springer spaniel pup into emergency care. She had belonged to a frail, elderly couple who weren’t able to give her the care she needed. They had bought her out the boot of a car which means she probably came from a puppy farm. She couldn’t walk due to an infection, had something wrong with her leg, and although absolutely gorgeous is incredibly shy and timid. She was so weak she couldn’t stand up. They got an emergency appointment with their vet who put her on antibiotics straight away and arranged for x rays a few days later when she was stronger. They were delighted that the antibiotics and a proper puppy diet seemed to be working but were concerned about her legs. The x rays confirmed their worst fears. Lucy has congenital joint problems with her right carpus being worst affected. This has left her with an abnormal paw position which is a cause for concern. On the positive side, she doesn’t seem to be in pain and is coping remarkably well. They wanted to give her a chance so with the vets' agreement they decided to find a foster home for her, try to build her up physically, give her lots of love and encouragement and look at things in a few weeks to see if she is well enough to find a permanent home. I am now Lucy's foster mum! She is a gorgeous girl To help DAWGS I have set up a " Saving Lucy Campaign." Your donation will help fund the on-going care Lucy will need to give her the best possible chance of a happy life however long it may be.
