Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We had a super day, glorious sunshine and despite a few nerves we both gave it some really spirit. Dan completed the race in 2hrs16mins and Jessica in 2hrs22mins (Jessica even did it with a knee injury).
We are astounding by everyone's generosity for this wonderful charity. Thank you so much for supporting us and the work of World Jewish Relief.
We are excited to be supporting World Jewish Relief, an incredible forward-thinking charity close to both of our hearts. In October Dan will become chairman of Trustees. It has a long history of supporting Jewish and non Jewish communities in need, reducing poverty and helping people build a life for themselves.
Today World Jewish Relief is the British Jewish community’s international humanitarian agency.
Some of World Jewish Relief's key areas of work happening right now are;
- a focus on tackling poverty in Ukraine and the Former Soviet Union; helping people rebuild their lives, providing training for employment and self-reliance.
The aim is to bring 100,000 people out of poverty by 2020.
- Giving elderly people in the Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus and Moldova who have lived through the Holocaust and communism the chance to live their lives without fear and anxiety. Supporting them through practical assistance with housing repairs, life-saving food and medicine as well as providing companionship.
- Emergency response globally to disasters such as flooding and earthquakes, and war torn countries, refugee crisis response for example for Syrian Refugees through creating programmes and proving resources where people's lives are put in immediate danger.
