Story

Operation HERRICK 18 was the last in a decade typified by frequent deployment by the Regiment to the Middle East: Operation TELIC 4 in 2004, Operation TOSCA in 2005, Operation TELIC 10 in 2007 and Operation HERRICK 11 in 2009.  As such, it is my intention to mark the close of this epoch in First Regiment’s history with a series of high profile parades in the Regiment’s recruiting heartlands.  The working title attributed to this series of parades is Exercise CYPHERS’ RETURN.

Exercise CYPHERS’ RETURN will see 1RHA march through the city centres of Nottingham on Monday 20 Jan 14, Sheffield on Wednesday 22 Jan 14 and the town centre of Doncaster on Friday 24 Jan 14.  The marching contingent will be in No 1 ceremonial dress and will include Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery (KTRHA) and the Royal Artillery Band for Sheffield and Doncaster with The King’s Division Band assisting with the march through Nottingham.
