We provide fun-filled activity holidays to change the lives of disabled children

Story

Welcome and thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

This year (jointly with our colleagues in basketball) we're organising our 2nd annual 24 hour Charity Match where 72 brave guys and girls will take to the pitches to play a continuous 24 hours of football and basketball, to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Newman Holiday Trust. New since last year, the Newman Holiday Trust is a volunteer run charity that organises holidays for disabled children from underprivileged backgrounds from across the country (see their message below). Being a small, volunteer run organisation, our fundraiser can make a stunning and immediate difference to the lives of these children.

Last year we were humbled at the support, donations and enthusiasm that everyone brought to this event. This year, we've doubled the size of our Charity Match and, with your help, we can raise a truly significant amount of money for these excellent causes.

Thank you for your generosity.

Established in 1981, the Newman Holiday Trust began by running a one week summer holiday for children with special needs. The Trust now provides holidays for about 130 children with special needs aged four to sixteen each year, in various locations around the UK. Due to the high level of skilled care they require or financial circumstances, the children selected for these breaks would not otherwise receive a holiday. The holidays provide a range of fun activities in a safe and supportive environment and use a care ration of one helper to one child at all times. The Trust is an entirely voluntary organization and owes its success to over 200 people who dedicate their free time to helping these children. This voluntary structure ensures that every penny raised goes directly towards a child's holiday.
