Story
in november 2013 i found out i was pregnant again and we were over the moon, then when it came to my first scan we were told we were having twins, we were all soo happy and the kids were exstatic, our happiness grew when at 15 weeks pregnant we were told we were having girls but not just any girls they were identical, it was all short lived when at 18 weeks we were told my twins had developed a disease called TTTS.... (twin to twin transfusion syndrome)
a week later at a scan we noticed the fluid was starting to even its self out and a further scan a week later confirmed this.... but .... we later found out on the 23rd of may that it had actually switched to the oppisite twin (lexi) by this time it was too late things were progressing too fast and the dr's became concerned about lacey heart rate and the fact that lexi was'nt moving as much so the decision was made to deliver.
on the 24th of may 2014 at 3.23 lexi came into the world weighing 2lbs 3oz and 38cm long and shortly after at 3.25 lacey was born weighing 1lb14oz (870g) and approx 28cm long..
they were rushed straight away to nicu..... after 5 hours myself and john were called for by the dr and taken to see lexi as there was no hope for stabilizing her we held her for a short time then she fell asleep forever at 9.17pm in the comfort of her daddys arms!!!
lacey remained in the hospital a further 6 weeks 3 days and got stronger every day finally getting home on the 7th of july weighing 3lbs 10 oz!!!
now we'd just like to raise awarness of the terrible disease and raise money to help find a cure as no twin should be left alone!!!!!
