Story
Our team:
Danielle Green, Dominic Green, Toby Beardmore, James Ellis, Tom Spender and Louis Wedgwood. We are all Air Cadets from Staffordshire Wing and are currently students on the Air Cadet Junior Leaders 17 Course.
Our challenge:
To run an arduous 17.5 miles from RAF Cosford to MOD Stafford in Febuary 2016. We are undertaking this challenge in order to raise money for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation.
Our chosen charity:
The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation honours the life and legacy of Lt John ‘JT’ Thornton RM. In his life, John achieved many things including climbing Kilimanjaro, flying with the Red Arrows and being awarded Top Student on the Air Cadet Junior Leaders Course, the course we are all currently participating in. Tragically, he was killed in 2008 while serving in Afghanistan as an Officer in the Royal Marines.
"The JTYAF supports young people from a wide range of youth organisations providing them with scholarships and bursaries to support their personal development and the pursuit of their ambitions. Recipients of the Charity’s Young Achievers Awards are selected for their demonstration of the Foundation’s key values: courage, determination, unselfishness and cheerfulness in adversity."
John accomplished his dream and died doing a job he loved. Therefore, the aim of the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation is to encourage and assist young people to ‘climb as high as they can dream.’

We are hoping to raise around £300 each so any donation no matter how small will be greatly appreciated!
