Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.
On Saturday 4th June we will begin our Isle of Wight round the island walk aiming to complete 67 miles in 24 hours or less. There are 26 colleagues and family members taking part including a support team. The challenge will start at Bonchurch near Ventnor at 06:00 walking clockwise around the island. This is a very tough endurance event which we are planning and organising ourselves in the hope of maximising our fundraising potential.
The purpose of the charity event is to raise funds which will help provide Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospital's Renal department with specialist equipment which will make a huge difference for kidney dialysis patients.
This charity is close to my heart because my Dad Mick Fitzpatrick from Thorne near Doncaster has had lots of support from the Doncaster Renal Unit and had been on dialysis until he had a kidney transplant on 19th February. My Dad suffers from Polycystic Kidney Disease and put his own treatment on hold until my Mum was better recovering from Lymphoma cancer of the brain and eyes. He has supported my Mum when he was really poorly himself and very much deserved a donated kidney when he got the call that one was available. We appreciate everything done by Doncaster and Sheffield hospital and we will also be raising money for Kidney Research UK as well to help those unfortunate suffering from Kidney Disease.
We really appreciate your donation towards this charity helping to support kidney disease patients in Doncaster and Bassetlaw, thank you.
Charity walkers and support are as follows:
