Story
One in six adults around the world have come through childhood unable to read and write, a situation mainly due to lack of books and opportunity to read.
In 2008 the Book Bus began delivering books to schools in Zambia and working with children to inspire them to read. Five years on and they have opened reading schemes in Zambia, Malawi, and Ecuador where over 10,000 children now have books that are relevant and accessible to read.
All of the money you raise will go direct to the project there are none of the hidden administration fees that halves the money before it can do any good, every penny you donate will do good.
Dave, John and Joey have decided to take on the challenge of the Cuillin Ridge on Skye - an unbelievably grueling 20 hour climb with almost 10,000 feet of ascent. Let's be honest we want to do it but we've got to train for 3 months just to be allowed to have a go - if we're not fit or technically good enough we won't be allowed to do it!!!!
Please give us all the encouragement, support and money that's going to help us get through the next 3 months until we attempt the Cuillin on the 20th September 2015 but remember we're doing this to remember Andrea and support the need to raise literacy and numeracy across Ecuador.
