Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I am taking on the challenge of the 2016 London Marathon this April, running for the charity Deafblind UK which is based in Peterborough. I became aware of this charity through a work event at their HQ and they do a very unheralded job. I have included some links about deafblindness and Deafblind UK below and I encourage you to take a look to better understand the condition, the challenges, and the work that Deafblind UK do to help improve the lives of a surprisingly large number of people.
Even the smallest donation will make a difference, not just to my motivation, but most importantly to Deafblind UK. For example: -
o £10 pays for an hour of vital support from their Information and Advice Line
o £30 pays for a home befriender to spend a day with a lonely deafblind person
o £40 pays for a caring, expert telephone befriender for three months
o £80 pays for an outreach officer to spend two days supporting deafblind people
Needless to say, training is already well underway and every penny donated will serve to increase my motivation to get out training and push hard on those plentiful cold wet nights.
