Hadrian's Wall Trek for Drought Relief, 8 October 2016
A million children right now face dire consequences because of hunger, sickness, and lack of water caused by escalated food prices and limited availability of staple foods.

Story

When we were in Southern Africa earlier this year we walked with children in Swaziland in their daily trek to get water.  We saw how, because of the drought, they were having to resort to taking water from a muddy pool shared with cattle with all the attendant health risks.

Because of this experience in October I shall walk Hadrian's Wall to raise, with your support, funds that will help enable orphaned and vulnerable children in some of Africa's poorest communities have access to food and clean water.  The money you give will go directly to support drought relief work through Hands at Work, so please give generously.

We help local communities serve orphaned and vulnerable children in 8 countries in sub-Saharan Africa in communities where the need is at its highest and the support structure at its lowest; mainly through food security, access to health care and education. This gives them hope for the future.
